Don't wait until the New Year to get in shape.
Don't wait until the New Year to get in shape.

Picture yourself on January 1, the first day of the brand New Year. Close your eyes and form a mental picture of how you want to look on that day. Do you want to lose a few pounds? Do you want to be standing taller and feel more confident? Would you like a tighter butt or flatter stomach. If you start right now, today, you could actually achieve that vision of yourself. If you don’t start right now and you wait until the New Year like so many people do, the vision will be much different. You’ll probably be up a couple pounds and your confidence and self esteem will suffer. Don’t be the person who waits for the New Year to get in shape. Because you know what? Most of the people who wait don’t get started on January 1. No, that’s a holiday and then it’s back to work and reality. It usually takes at least a few more weeks for them to get in gear and actually get started. By then, they’re up a couple more pounds.

Getting in shape is not something you should plan on starting at some arbitrary future date. If you want to get in shape, you must start right now, today. Don’t put off becoming the person you are meant to be, a fit and happy person. That’s what you deserve, but only you can do it. Nobody can do it for you and you must start right away. There are always reasons and excuses for procrastinating, but ask yourself who you really are. I believe that deep down inside of all of us is a healthy, fit person. Our bodies are constantly striving to be healthy and that instinct is who we really are, not necessarily the fat bodies we’ve become trapped in.

My favorite clients are the ones who start training before the holidays. They seem to have more determination and ultimately better results. Those who wait until the New Year and stumble in mid-February are less motivated and their results are a reflection. By the end of spring, they've given up and are more discouraged than ever. Don’t be that person!

What is the first step? I personally believe that strength training is the best form of exercise, with true Pilates being a close second. But strength training isn’t just something you’re born knowing how to do. It’s not rocket science, but you do have to be taught properly by a professional who specializes in your gender, age and health-related issues. If that sounds intimidating, it shouldn’t. This is the 21st century and there are many options to gently teach you how to strength train. I’d love to be that person for you and thanks to the internet, it’s not only possible, it’s easy and affordable.

Check out the online strength training classes I offer at www.physiic.com . I can show up in your office or living room and teach you how to strength train, LIVE. You can see and talk to me and I can see and talk to you. Best of all, it’s only $5 for a 30 minute class. Told you it was affordable! I hope to see you in class soon!
